Once a student enrolls in the ESL program, the student is required to undergo testing. Once the student has completed the test, he / she will be placed into one of NINE levels, ranging from 1 to 9. This testing process is used to determine what Syllabus and which classes the student will benefit from the most, based on that student’s reading comprehension, writing, listening and speaking skills. The nine levels are divided up into three general ‘level-blocks’: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Before you begin your classes at American English Center you will have Orientation. During Orientation you will receive a student Orientation Handbook which answers many questions about studying at American English Center. Orientation will cover AEC’s attendance policies, grading policies, student progress, vacation, probation, transfers, and much more. All students must attend orientation.
